Anand is today Chief Communications Officer at INSEAD Business School, a global school whose MBA program was ranked #1 in the world by the FT, two years in a row.
He was previously Managing Director of Stoic, a consultancy in Copenhagen, Denmark, where he conceived and executed the brand strategy for Samsung in Scandinavia. Tasked with making the company the no.1 brand in several major product areas, his team achieved this goal well before the target of 5 years, beating such locally powerful brands such as Bang & Olufsen and NOKIA.
His approach to drive the Samsung brand to the number one position was a refinement of his major consumer marketing experiences at SONY and LEGO, and his user driven innovation experience from IDEO.
At IDEO, he was based on the East Coast, USA, working closely with Fortune 50 companies on product development projects, including consumer brands such as Target, J&J, Pepsi, GM, GE, Wyeth, and Mahindra.
At LEGO, Anand was recruited to take on a new Director of Future Branding position working on future scenario planning and its implications for brand equity and product development.
And at SONY, Anand was a European manager for nine years. His first role was creating new computer accessory brands for Sony Europe and then joined Sony’s newly formed ITE (Information Technology Europe). He helped launch Sony’s first digital still camera (the DSC F1), Sony’s first IT B2B sales channel and its first online consumer sales channel (sonystyle.com). Due to the success of these initiatives, Anand was asked to join the Sonystyle.com team, where he drove platform marketing across divisions, working with Columbia Pictures, PlayStation, and Sony Music
He completed his EMBA in 2013 and lives in Singapore.
